Suddenly, the pile exploded, sending us flying back like ten feet. Griffin body parts flew over and around us, Thao cried out in disgust as a bloody griffin's hindleg landed on his head. I was about to ask if head was okay but I had no time because right where the pile was moments before, was a huge monstrosity. Its head was hidden by a dark black mask. The whole monster was covered in thick, stiff, grey fur. Its clawed, ummm hand, looked like it was covered in razor blades. Its hindlegs looked like a cougar's leg, except the back of the legs were covered in long stiff light grey fur. I flinched in horror as four dark red eyes opened beneath the mask. Thats right, FOUR eyes. The creature roared, swinging an outstreached arm at us. It fell short, slamming into five or six of the redwood tables, the tables shatering on impact. Splinters flew through the air, stabbing into anything they hit, like knives into flesh. I flung myself behind a table, feeling the splinters hit the table like a machine gun. Another crash as the creature slammed into another set of tables, sending another barrage of splinters flying at us. I yelled above the noise, "GUYS! FIRE! WE HAVE TO USE OUR FIRE!" I spotted Ino nod and run out from behind the chair she was hidding behind, which now looked like a tooth pick that had been used, like a hundred times. Ino unleashed a blast of fire, turning the splinters in its path to ashes. I watched the creature's four eyes widen in surprize, then they suddenly scrunched up in anger. The beast roared, and lunged at Ino! Ino's bright blue eyes widened in horror, then a flash of black and gold. Neota. The sonic dragon... Thank God for her... The next second Ino and Neota were besides me, and the creature's fist crashing down on the spot Ino was seconds before. The creature's eyes widened as it lifted up its hand to see no dead dragon underneath, but instead, there was a huge fist shaped dent in the floor. It looked around and growled in anger. "We have to get away from this thing." Neota wispered. I nodded. When we were all gathered together, we made our escape. While the monster was making a fuss and trashing the place, we snuck out the back door... Only to find that we were trapped...

Chapter 17

Oh yes, trapped. Trapped in what way? How could we, of all its, be trapped? Well, I was asking myself the same frick'n question... I looked around, all I could see was black. All black, but I knew it was in the middle of the day. So thats how I knew we were trapped. I heard a sound of something being sprayed in the air and I started getting drowsy. I fought to stay awake but I grew weak and tired. Then I fainted.

Chapter 18

"Have you captured the Dragons yet?" I asked, athority mingled in my dark voice. I was Awi, the ruler of the griffins. Dragons are my least favorite thing, and since they have been spotted in my domain... "Yes, my master. We have captured the dragons that must be disposed of. They are in the lab sire, already being experimented on." replyed my servant. I nodded and leaped down off my ivory throne. I strode through the throne room doors, spotting the armor clad guards outside.

Chapter 19

I woke, or I thought I woke, and everything was blurry. My world was spinning, then I felt something being jabbed into my arm. My eyes widened in the shock of the pain. I screamed in agony, my voice sounding like a nearly drowned cat. I thrashed to get away, but I was straped down to some kind of metal board. I roared in anger, litle spits of flame spurting out from my mouth. Then a mask was placed on my face, and I grew drowsy. The doors burst open beside me and huge figure walked into the room. When it came into view, I realized it was acctually a griffin! At that moment I knew we had been captured by the Griffin King, Awi.
But where were the others? As if reading my mind, Awi replyed. "Your dragon friends are in seperate rooms, each being tested on." He declared, his voice rich with obvious royalty. My eyes narowed, as I planed my escape. "Oh no you don't." Awi muttered as he motioned to some guards outside the doors. The guards closed the doors and stood in front of them, holding long tri-tipped spears, gold encrusted along the staff. "There, you see. You will have a hard time trying to escape from here." Awi growled murderously, his powerful sharp beak snapping closed as he spoke. I knew then that I might never leave here. Being tortured, or worse, killed... Awi laughed mercilessly, nodding to his guards as he padded out of the room, or should I say, my new room that I might stay in forever...

Chapter 20

When the doors behind me closed, I burst out laughing. Evil twisted in the mad happiness. I, Awi, King of Griffins, have captured dragons. Holding them hostage, so easily too! "Oh you are so powerful, Awi!" I laughed giddly to myself as I strode back into my throne room. I spotted a small grey dragon chained and gagged kneeling on the cold marble floor. No guards were around and I realized the dragon was unconscience. Then I heard a bunch of shouting and fighting outside the room. Suddenly, a bloody guard fell into the room uttering, "They've escaped...", before he fainted. My eyes widened as a large white dragon stalked in the room, a black dragon was leaning on him. The same black dragon that I'd just seen a least a minute ago! She had a smirk on her face that almost scared me. But I was Awi, King of Griffins, and I could not let an imbicil of a dragon that feared me so much before, intimidate me! Then the rest of the dragons I had captured, bounded in behind the first two. Their eyes glazed over in anger. A blue one, that I thought was butiful, unsheathed her claws, hissing mensingly. A huge fire red dragon with intence burning eyes, roared at me, fire spurting out of his mouth. I felt my eyes widen as a huge silver and white dragon stepped into the room, beside him was a slightly smaller dragon that was electric yellow dragon with out of proportion orange wings. His dark grey eyes glistened with malice. A medium sized dragon bounded towards the unconscience little dragon laying on the floor, her face filled with shock. She looked up at me, her eyes barely slits as she growled in hatred. A young dragon leaped up beside the blue one and snorted in fury. A sudden flash, and a gold and black dragon was pearched on my throne. She stared at me blankly. "You do not know who you are dealing with..." The black dragon hissed, still smirking. "We are not so easliy played around with. You, Awi, are a fool, to think you could capture us and keep up prisoner. You were highly mistaken..." She laughed, pointing a clawed talon at me. "You wish, you S O B." She growled, emphisizeing on every letter as she hissed 'S O B.' "I am Kova, and we are Dragons, in case you wanted to know who you're dealing with. Oh, and Dragons don't like imbisils like you. Elk, you know what to do..." She commanded, an smile of revenge lighting up her face. The huge silver and grey dragon stepped forward, his violet eyes slits. I felt his deep heavy breathing on my face. I gulped, now knowing this was how it is to die by a dragon. I felt the severe pain as the dragon's long, powerful, clawed, talons ripped into my flesh. My chest pounded as it was torn apart. Slow, warm blood oozed out of the fatal wound. The blood pounding in my ears faltered, and I knew my heart had stopped. My sight slowed as I felt my self die, turning into faded pinpricks of light. Then I knew I was seconds from death. I counted them, 1-2-3-4-5... Then everything went black, and at that very exact moment, I was dead.

Chapter 21

I stared at Elk, he was standing over the lifless body of Awi. His expression was uncomprehensible. Then he reached over and closed awi's eyes. Then he spun around and faced me, his whole face in a big dragonic grin as he shouted, "We did it!" And he pumped his fist in to the air. We all looked at each other and hugged. We had defeated one of our worst enemys. Yeah, that's right. One of our enemys...

Book Two

Chapter 1

I streached, yawning in the warm sun. A few months had passed but the drunes never returned. Thao was happliy living at one of Talik's old apartment buildings. I peered over at Mitsuki. Aang lay curled up beside her. Although the chain marks on Aang's wrists and ankles had dissipeared, he was still never the same. He stayed near Mitsuki so much that it actully annoyed her! It was kinda a problem when Mitsuki needed to use the bathroom... LOL. Lets not talk about that... Elk and the rest of us were in a better mood than we had been in years! Azoh had found some almost brand new lawn chairs and we quickly put them to good use, when summer finaly arrived... Although some-people wanted to use them as snowball launchers... Sigh... Suddenly I was covered in water, my magizen I was reading, drenched and the ink was already starting to bleed. "Hiroku!" I shouted. "Do you mind?" He turned to me, his face filled with inocence. "Sorry, Kova!" He apologized. "I think I over did that one..." I stared at him. "You think?" I replyed, perturbed. Neota raised an eyebrow. She had a growth spurt soon after the death of Awi. Ino told me she thought Hiroku had become more mature, I started to highly doubt that now. I looked back at my magizne, the pages were all ruined, the ink covering the whole intire thing. I sighed, leaped off the lawnchair and tossed the magizne in a nearby dumpster. I lay back down on the lawnchair, and Elk walked over to me, his face filled up with happiness. "Don't you love this?" He asked, as he sat down beside me. He ran a hand through my dirty blond hair. I heard him sigh and get up. The next second, another lawnchair was beside me, and he was laying on it, staring at me. It was actuly kind of nice, being human again... For one, you could sit on a lawnchair without snapping it in two. Two, we all looked alot better. Suddenly a huge dark cloud covered the sun, and monstrous creatures shot out of it. "Oh, holy crap." Azoh muttered, morphing into his dragon form. Hiroku ran in the house, and came back with our masks. "Awe man..." Elk snorted, angrily. "I guess their trying to keep us in shape..." I said shrugging. The creatures crashed down, folding their bulky wings. They roared at us, rows and rows of sharp teeth flashing. I took a step back, staring at the monsters. Their three blue eyes glareing at us, hungrily.

Chapter 2

It lunged, it's long sword-like talons gash into the earth. It bellowed in frustration, it's foul smelling breath overwelming. Hiroku scrunched up his nose in disgust. The monster wrenched it's talons out of the ground and swung them at the fence. They hit stright and true, crushing the fence on impact. Suddenly we were covered in smaller creatures, biting and nipping. Ino shreiked, trying to brush them off. Neota sped around, the mini monsters flying off behind her. I roared, my fire searing the monsters that clung to me like leeches. Foras leaped into the air, overexagerating the downstroke, flinging the beasts in all directions. Sotoro yelled angrliy, incinerateing the nearest creatures into a pile of ashes. We continued struggleing with the tiny beasts, and didn't realize that strange ghostlike beings had appeared. "Stop, My minions." hummed a purple ghost, it seemed to be the leader, because the creatures stopped and evaporated into thin air. "Dragons... What are you doing here?" asked the purple ghost, stareing at me blankly. "Why do you think you can order us around?!" Hiroku said, stepping forward assertively. "We live here! You have no right to tell us what to do!" Soroto hissed behind Hiroku. "We will not accept such unrully behavior. You will be punnished." replyed a green ghost, it's attitude wasn't angry. Suddenly, we wern't at home... We were tied down to a table. I couldn't move, I couldn't do anything.

Chapter 3

"Muhahaha!" laughed the purple ghost, "I have captured you! Now I will avenge the death of my son!" The ghost dissipeared and a hidden door in the far corner opened, revealing a tall, muscular griffin. His green eyes glistened and his face-fur was moist with fresh tears. "You killed him!" he shouted at all of us, "You killed him!" He stepped up to my face, growling. His putrid breath, stinking up the air. I coughed, chokeing on the stench. Elks eyes widened in concern. I snorted, smoke blowing in his face. He scowled at me, turning to Ino. "You seem like you would be smart to obey me." he laughed vilely. He reached over and tapped a button beside Ino. The table tilted, sending the blood rushing to our heads. Ino screamed as the straps that secured her released. She fell, into a shoot, that ended at something increadbly painful. Her screams echoed up as we heard somekind of razorblades slice into flesh and bone. The table righted and the evil griffin was gone. And who knows what happened to Ino...

Chapter 4

The sevear pain hit me as I felt somthing sharp slice into my wings. I almost fainted, then I felt my self land on a cold, metal surface. Something like a needle was jabbed into my arm, the pain seaced. I relaxed, then the griffin stepped into the room. "I am Ret. Ino, you know that this was eventully going to happen, didn't you?" He laughed vilely. I fact, I did have a feeling that the good-times, were not to last. I stared at him, defiant. He laughed, his scared beak, all black and gore-covered, flashing in the weak light. "You knew! I knew you did! But, did you tell the others about it? No!" He coughed violently, spraying foul spit over me. "Oh, and you will pay for your pridefulness... In fact, you already have! If you noticed, although I wouldn't understand why you would not notice, your precious wings are gone. Cut off by my prized razor-blade machine. You have no way to, fly away, from here, even if I released you to the yard. The wing removeing is a sucsess, so I will continue with your friends... Ha, ha!" Ret scoffed, his blood-red eyes glazed over in malice. "You are a blabermouth, aren't you, Ret?" I sneered, "Ret. What a horrible name. Who named you that? Your mother?" He hissed at me. "You're one to talk. You're captured, and who would give you such a boring name? Ino. What a bore... You will regret what you have said to me today, oh you will..." He stalked out, almost steaming with rage. Well that was over... I sighed, stareing at the placid, white, and compleatly blank ceiling. I felt myself begin to cry. warm tears rolled down my scaled cheek. I couldn't understand how or why, Ret wanted to hurt us. However, I remembered at that moment, that his son, Awi, was dead. But, I never knew that a parents love could be so tortuous. I could not wipe the tears from my face, my arms trapped by the metal arms that held me. I was near the brink, biting my lip, trying to prevent myself from sobbing. I closed my eyes, wishing that this was just a dream, but I knew this was for real. The pain returned, stabbing and pirceing my conscience like knives. I screamed, and imeadiadtly shut-up because the sound stung my ears. I felt the warm, sticky blood ooze out from my back. I cried more, knowing this was actully real. I clenched my fists, the pain more intense now. I felt myself lose conscience. Slipping away from reality, I hoping that I'd not feel the pain.

Chapter 5

Ino, oh what was going to happen to the rest of us? For all I knew, Ino could be dead! I hoped that wasn't the outcome... "Well, well, well... What do we have here? A bunch of helpless FOOLS! That's what we have!" the griffin shouted as he rentered the room. "What happened to Ino?!" Hiroku yelled in fury. "You want to mess with us, and you are going to pay! Let me go, and I'll show you how!" Sotoro bellowed in protest. "You're a psycho-maniac! What do you want with us?!" The griffin merely smirked. "You do not know my name, do you?" He sneered, "I am Ret, father of Awi. And you vile creatures, have killed him!" Foras snorted, and laughed, "You're one to call US, vile creatures! You don't even see the evil within yourself, or do you? I know one-thing, it's that people who don't see evil in themselves, didn't look close enough." Ret stared at Foras and growled, "Thanks for the lecture, but no thanks. I've looked close enough, and I found evil, but what does that mean to me? Nothing! Because, I don't care! I enjoy my evil, and I won't let anything stop me! Especially, you rude little savagers! So there!" We peered over at one another, and started laughing. Ret looked confused and angry at the same time. He roared in discontent and slammed his taloned fist on a grey metal table. "Enough! I see you don't respect me, although I hold your pathetic lives in my claws! I guess you don't hold your lives dear to you, so there would be no problem with me taking them away, will there?" Ret screached above our jubilant laughter. We instantly shut-up. Aang stared at Ret, wide-eyed, scared of what Ret could do to us, and him. "There, much better... I hope you enjoy your stay here, because it will last as long as I want it to. And if you are good, I might let you out to the yard. However, I have my, as you call it, evil ways of keeping you here and in order. I have no doubts with my plans so far, and I'm not going to have any." Ret sneered at our helpless looks, and laughed mercilessly as he strolled out of the room. "This isn't over, Ret!" Foras called after him. "This isn't over!" Ret laughed back, "Oh, but it will be! Just you wait!" Elk turned to me and muttered,"He sure is a prideful butthead, isn't he?" I laughed, "You think?"

Chapter 6

I sighed, those stupid dragons were bothering me again. I couldn't sleep. I tossed and turned, they were probably were asleep, and calm. It wasn't fair. Their so relaxed attitude and I was stuck here, unable to calm down. "Ret, stop groaning and moving. You're disturbing me." A voice beside me mumbled. "Ret, froget about the dragons, they're trapped, nowhere to go. Just go to sleep, you're so annoying..." Ular, my best friend. We had been together since, forever, I guess. "Ular, do you..." Ular cut me off, "Stop worrying! You are annoying me to death!" I winced, Ular had a horrible temper. Trust me, you want to avoid it at all costs. Ular groaned, as he turned over. I stared at the ceiling, blank, and boring as ever. "Over priced candy..." Ular muttered in his sleep. Those dragons were never going to get off my mind. I lay, disparingly.

Chapter 7

It had been a few weeks now, and we had met Ular. He had sympathy for us, but Ret couldn't stand it... We were finaly allowed out in the Yard, and we were going to be rejoined with Ino today! We were all worryed how she was getting along, trapped in that dungeon so long... "Ino!" Hiroku shouted happily, as he ran up to her. She looked okay, but I could tell, something was bothering her... She winced as she lumbered over to the jubulent Hiroku. He hugged he so hard that she almost cried. Her face looked older and worn, but it still had a look of youth in it. We hugged her lighter that Hiroku, and asked what happened.
